Easy way to get Xf1re on Linux (06-2026)
It came to my attention that there are some people having problems making Xf1re run on Linux systems. After a long fight and many tries I will write a good way to get it running in no times and how to improve some performance. The first thing here is to get 'Bottles' (I recommend just getting it through Flatpak), create a new bottle (be sure to check where you want to have that bottle, aka in which drive) and set it to 'gaming template', this will already configure everything for a smooth install. You might have issues on the installer not running, in that case just be sure to go to your bottle > runner > select sys-wine. We will only use wine on this part, since proton install kind of doesnt work. If you are experimenting a white box of freeze, just be sure to use Cachyos 11.0 or GE Proton 10-34 that I can confirm (at the time of writing this) works. Now, this should let you use Xf1re,...

This new is about how to get gametracking on Linux for Xf1re. As you are probably aware, at the time of writing this even making Xf1re run on Linux can be a headache. For this guide I will use Bottles (with flatseal to make it work system wide) with Proton GE 10.38. Me advice, this guide is a really crude form of a proper solution is mostly how to set the start of the time tracking as easy as possible. Im not a program my self, so besides copying and pasty it should be absolutely doable to anyone to be honest To archive this, we will use a 'dummie window' program that will share the expected .exe name that Xf1re is waiting and this way it will easy track the time.
